About Me!

My name is Karla. A Caribbean girl born in St Vincent, living in Barbados.

Travelling across the Caribbean monthly I have the opportunity to mix and mingle with people from each of the islands within the Eastern Caribbean. We are a vibrant, colorful people who share life through food and liming.  People on these islands are colorful, kind, authentic, quirky, and full of life.

While all the islands share similarities sun and the beach. Our landscapes and foods differ in views and tastes. Each island has its idiosyncrasies. I wanted to share with you guys why you visit the Caribbean and what food you should try. I want you to know when you are in a St Vincent, what is a typical Vincy breakfast? When you visit Barbados, what is the typical Bajan breakfast and lunch?

Each week I will highlight recipes unique to the islands across the Eastern Caribbean.  I will be sharing real stories and experiences about what island life is really about. Where can you find the most authentic and tasty foods on each island?

This will help you guys appreciate why island people are so friendly and easygoing…… why we live on island time.
